Busy, Busy, Busy!

My new preschool room (one wall anyway. It really is cuter in person)
Pipes, our Foster Cat
The boy's loot from the traumatic carnival
The boy's new beds

It has been crazy around her for the last few months. I've decided to open a preschool this fall and have been really busy getting that ready. It has taken over our lives. Dustin had to move our office upstairs so I could use the what used to be the computer room as the preschool room. It was a lot of work. It involved buying new beds and selling old furniture. We got new bunk beds for the boys after Benjamin fell out of the top bunk, and then we got a new trundle bed for our new office/guest room. It actually all looks really good.

Our boys finally have a decorated room now too. We ordered new bed spreads for the boys (which haven't come in yet) and got sports wall stickers to go with them. I'll put some pictures on when the room is finished.

Now our upstairs computer room is a mess but Dustin just finished getting all the computer things working and he even installed another phone line! It was a lot of work. He's a good man. I've been working hard on decorating my new preschool room too. I posted some pictures but they really don't do it justice. It's very cute and I've had fun planning lessons and decorating.

Last Friday we went to a carnival at Britton's new school that he'll start in August. The boys won a ton of prizes and had a great time. I didn't have quite as much fun. After we had been there for about 1/2 hour, we totally lost Benjamin. He was with me in line and then he was nowhere to be found. I was in hysterical panic mode. I was so scared I couldn't feel my feet or hands. It was horrible. We checked all over the grounds of the school, the park next to the school, inside the school and the parking lot and we still couldn't find him. I was asking everyone I knew if they could look for him. Finally, we heard an announcement over the loud speaker that they had found a little boy. We ran to the building and there was Benjamin being held by a stranger, happy as a clam. He had no idea he was lost! He had been playing in a bathroom inside the school, the only place I hadn't looked and nowhere near where we lost him. I was so grateful to have him back and I carried him the rest of the time we were at the carnival. It was about the scariest night of my life. We're going on vacation on Saturday and Benjamin will be riding in the stroller or in the back pack.

Finally, we have been fostering a friend's cat. One of our good friends just moved to Ohio. They left last week to spend a little time in Utah visiting family before making the flight to Ohio. Unfortunately, when it came time to go, they couldn't find their cat. They looked for over two hours and still no signs of Pipes (the cat). Well, the kids were devastated but they had to leave. In the mean time, the whole neighborhood was trying to catch this cat. He had been spotted a couple times but nobody could catch him. I had gone over once but didn't have any luck either. On Sunday the boys and I went over and I found Pipes under their shed. I lured him out and put him in the pet carrier and brought him home. Unfortunately, his family flew to Ohio on Sunday as well and Pipes missed his flight. So we've been fostering Pipes for a while. Acey, our dog is afraid of him and Con, our cat is mad that he's here. Pipes seems pretty happy to be here too. He has been sleeping in our bed and demanding attention. He's a good cat. Our kids say they will miss him but I think his family will be very happy to have him home. Pipes flies out tomorrow on an early morning flight to Ohio. He is going to be one well, traveled cat. I got him a sedative for the trip. Good luck Pipes! I'm sure there's been a ton more happening since i posted last, but my brain is full and I can't think anymore!

Your preschool room looks great. All of your hard work will pay off in just a few months. You must be so excited at the prospect of having a class full of cute kids in the fall.

The rooms are so cute. But all I can think of is you losing Benjamin. (Or I guess he lost you.) We lost Logan when he was two and we found him just as I was about to call the police and Search and Rescue. I have never been so afraid. I am glad it all worked out well!
