San Diego Vacation Day 1

We arrived in San Diego VERY late last night.  Our original flight was delayed so our flight was changed to go to a different city so we could make our connecting flight. The only problem was we arrived in San Diego a lot later and didn't make it to bed until about 1:00 a.m.  Caden was pretty tired by the time we got on our connecting flight and cried for at least 15 minutes on the plane until he finally crashed.  We were very happy to get into our hotel.

I knew we would be arriving later in the evening so I called our hotel earlier in the day to let them know that we would need a crib in our room.  Well, we got here and Dustin checked us in and asked about the crib again. He was told they didn't have a note on our reservation (funny, because when I called I was told they would make a note of it).  Even worse, they said they couldn't get us a crib until the morning if it wasn't put into our room already. Well, guess what?  It wasn't in our room so Caden had to sleep in our bed with us. The only problem besides the fact that I was afraid he would suffocate on the pillows is that he likes to wake up very early in the morning and was very excited that we were already in the same bed.  By some miracle we were able to get him to fall back asleep so we could all get a little more rest.

Today started out much better.  We went to breakfast and when we got back, there was a crib in our room (Dustin requested it again in the morning).  Next we headed to the beach.  It was still pretty cold but we didn't mind.  The boys played in the water and Caden enjoyed the fun of crunching sand in his teeth and trying to eat a seaweed buffet.  Once we were done with the beach we came back for baths and then headed to the pool for a while. It was nice and warm by then.  After swimming we met Dustin's Dad and step-mom for dinner at a 50's diner and then let the boys play in their arcade.  They thought it was great.  Tomorrow we get to attend our oldest nephews wedding.

Caden in the sand. He loved it!
Caden is starting to stand on his own but likes to lean against something if he can.  He's even taken a couple of steps.

Me at the beach.  Dustin said I had to be in some of the pictures

 How cute or those boys?
Caden had a huge string of snot hanging from his nose and kept trying to head butt Britton, who was grossed out by the snot.

Poor Britton, Caden was throwing sand on him while he was buried in the sand.  I love this picture of the three boys together.
I bought these tiny kites to bring with us and they were so awesome!  They flew great and the boys loved them.  They were only about 4 inches big but they were sure fun!

Yummy sand!
