We didn't get to go camping in August and we were pretty bummed about it so we decided to make sure we got a camping trip in this month. It was totally worth it! We tried a new camping spot near Anderson Ranch Reservoir called Dog Creek. It was great. My mom and Kurt joined us for the first night and on Saturday morning we all went camping at this little pond. It didn't look very promising but the fish there would bite anything! Britton cast and caught himself his first fish! It was a proud moment. He caught about 6 fish but only landed two. All together we caught 17 fish that we kept. There were several others that got away. Benjamin even got to reel in a fish. We changed our dinner plans and cooked up the fish we caught. Our boys love fish. It's great.
We also got to go down to the river and watch the Kokanee salmon swim upstream. There were tons of them. It was great for the kids to see them and learn about their life cycle. We roasted marshmallows and the boys got to ride on the 4-wheeler. It was a well needed break. It was kind of our good-bye to summer. We're officially ready for Fall

It looks like a great place to camp! We will have to try it out sometime. Would we be able to have a 4th of July camp out there? As always the boys were so cute! I love the picture of Kurt on the motorcycle!
It sounds like you had a great time! My boys sure wish they could catch a fish!
