Soccer Star!

Tonight was Britton's first soccer game of the season. The first quarter he played defender and took his job very seriously. During the next two quarters he played mid fielder and forward. He was a little confused at first as the mid fielder and kept trying to defend the goal, but not run up the field with the ball. After the coach switched him to forward and explained that he could run the whole field, he became a goal making machine! He was aggressive enough to get the ball from other players and stayed with the ball when he was dribbling. Britton was awesome! He made 4 of the 8 goals for his team, which won by 1 goal. The whole team did great. There are some really talented kids on the team.

At dinner tonight after the game, Britton told us that he's going to be a professional athlete (he didn't name a specific sport), and that he had a friend that was going to be his agent. We're impressed that he knows what an agent is, and that he already has one! He makes us laugh.

On a side note, I somehow became the assistant coach. I feel really bad for the coach because I'm not all that helpful. Really, I just ask what he wants me to do and then try to do it. I played soccer for six years, but I was a really terrible player. I figure Britton and I are at about the same level, so it's all good. It has really been fun watching Britton develop as a player. He loves his team. They're a good bunch of kids.
