Dustin's brother and his family that live in Connecticut came out West and were in Utah for a visit so we took the opportunity to visit them while they were there. We stayed with Dustin's dad and so did Dustin's brother and his family. We had a great time visiting with them and the boys especially loved playing with their cousins. They have 3 boys as well. We got to go fishing on a pontoon boat with all the boys and dads. I was the only girl along for the ride. We had a great time. Everyone caught a fish (I caught the biggest one) and when we got back the boys caught a bunch of crayfish. Well, I guess I should say everyone that wanted to catch a fish caught one. Benjamin and his cousin Keaton that are the same age didn't care at all. They ate chips and made up games on the boat. All Benjamin wanted to do was hit the fish on the head with the little bat when they came in. Crazy kid!
The day we left we were supposed to meet up with Dustin's mom and all of his siblings and their family for a family pictures. We left Dustin's dad's house 2 hours early so we could get there in time. It's about a 45 minute drive to were we needed to be. Well, along the way we had a light on our dashboard that said the tire pressure was low on one tire. The light actually comes on pretty frequently. We filled the car with gas and got on the freeway when we remembered we hadn't checked the tire. Dustin decided to pull off on an exit to check the tire and when he did we heard a thump, thump, thump. The tire was flat, and ruined. Thank goodness we got off on the exit or we probably would have had a blow out on the freeway. Even better though, there was a tire store right across the street from the exit! Dustin unpacked the very full trunk, put on the donut tire and we headed to the tire store. We hadn't eaten lunch so after arranging for 2 new tires (the other one needed to be replaced too) we asked about a place to eat and it turned out there was a diner in the gas station across the street. They had HUGE portions and we all ordered a meal. We should have just split my order. Right when we were finishing lunch they called to say the car was finished so we walked back and got ready to leave. We arrived to the family pictures one hour late with two fresh tires and two rock chips to our window (great luck getting to the pictures). Luckily the photographer went ahead and took some individual family pictures and it all turned out well. We can't wait to see the pictures. It was a memorable trip for so many reasons.
This is me with my big fish. Dustin didn't make it into any of the pictures because he had to release his fish. They have strict size guidelines and his were too big and too little. It's a strange requirement.
