Meanwhile, Britton decided he wanted to fish during Benjamin's game. There is a little pond at the soccer fields and Britton was convinced that there were a lot of fish in there and that he would catch one. Before the game we set up his fishing pole and sent him on his way. We figured he would get bored after a while and give up. About five minutes into Benjamin's game, Britton came running up to the field yelling that he had caught a fish! He caught himself a little rainbow trout, which he then carried by hand to show off to everyone at the soccer field. We cooked it for him for dinner tonight. he was so proud.
Later in the afternoon we had Britton's game where he scored a goal and did an excellent job as defender as well. His team played a great game.
I really thought this was a better picture of Britton. I took it with my phone.
Benjamin strutting his stuff after making a goal. I wish I had gotten a close up.
Caden at the game
Dustin and I are on an indoor league as well. Our games last night were really late so we got a babysitter for the boys and went on a date before the games (it was a double header). We went to Carrino's for dinner and then went shopping for some new clothes. It was a good time. Afterwards we headed to our game. In the first game Dustin scored 2 goals (which is the maximum a man can make on an indoor co-ed league). He has gotten so much better since he first began playing. He also did some pretty awesome headers.
During the second game, I scored my first goal ever! It was pretty darn exciting. I jumped for joy and gave a little hoop. I also got warned by the ref for excessive celebrating....But, seriously, it was my first goal and there's no guarantee that I'll score another one! In the mean time, Dustin got put in the penelty box for kicking the ball into a girl's chest. Apparently it's only ok for men to kick the ball into other men. It was an accident but oh well. At least he was playing hard. Either way, it was a super eventful day of soccer. Caden chilled at the boy's soccer games and then was good for the babysitter. It was the first time we've left him with a teenage babysitter but he did great. It's good to know we can leave him.
