Today was Britton's first day of school and he is officially in first grade! He was so excited that he woke up this morning and got himself all dressed and ready to go. That is impressive! Normally I have to wake him up, and try and convince him to get dressed before breakfast. Britton also had Dustin help him spike his hair into a faux hawk. He was so cute. He was nervous too. Britton has a male teacher this year and his name is Mr Botomer (pronounced bottom-er, he, he). Dustin and I both took him to school and met his teacher. Britton gave him knuckles and showed him all the teeth he had lost. That's a good sign. Britton always shows the people he likes that he lost teeth. He's pretty proud of that. When we said good-bye, Britton had found a friend and was playing on the play ground.

Britton may have been excited and scared, but this year was much harder on me than last year. Having him gone all day is such a big deal. He will be in school all day until he graduates! He won't get off the bus until 4:15! I'm going to have to get used to it. At first Britton didn't want to go to first grade because he didn't want to be gone all day, but when I told him he got to have 3 recesses, he changed his mind. He has his priorities! He's was also excited to be able to eat lunch at school too. He's officially a grader! I can't wait to see how his day went.
