Tonight was a big night for our family. Kia, our 9 month old yellow lab graduation from obedience class. She has been attending Scotch Pines dog school for the last six weeks. It has been A LOT of work for her and me, but she is a MUCH better dog for going to school. She can walk off leash and stay by my side, sit, stay and come. This week she even stayed while a whole lacrosse team ran right by her! That's not to say she is perfect at any of those things, but she is doing good for a puppy who was a wild beast just a few weeks ago. We have to continue to work with her to keep her new skills sharp. By this time next year, with some age and hard work, Kia is going to be a very good girl.
