For Spring Break we decided to have a little get away and went to McCall for a couple days. We originally were going to go to Arizona for the week, but since we're all going to fly to Disneyland in December, we thought we better just stay close to home for Spring Break. Dustin took a couple days off and we stayed at the Shore Lodge. It is such an awesome place! They have great service and lots of fun things to do. We woke up Monday morning to about 4 inches of fresh snow. We got up and went to the Pancake House and had plate sized Cinnamon rolls. They make the biggest breakfasts I have ever seen. We all ate disgusting amounts of food and then decided we needed to walk some of it off.
We went to the fish hatchery where we saw thousands of tiny fish. It was pretty amazing. We can't wait until they grow up and release them so we can catch them! After the fish hatchery we found ourselves a tubing hill. Britton got a new sled for Christmas and he finally got to try it out. He said it was the best sled ever! Britton has no fear when it comes to sledding. Benjamin would rather just play in the snow. He did about 3 runs.
After playing in the snow we got back to the hotel and went for a swim in the outdoor pool. They keep it at about 84 degrees. It was nice. We ended by soaking in the hot tub.
One of the coolest things about the hotel we stayed in is that they have a movie theater that the guests can rent. We reserved it and got to watch a move all by ourselves. The hotel also provides popcorn and drinks. The kids thought it was just about the coolest thing ever!
We loved having our getaway. Britton said one day was too short. We fit a lot into the one day and two nights though. We'll be looking for more fun things to do in town before we all have to go back to school next week.
