The one thing I have always wanted for our house is wood floors. Of course wood floors wouldn't last in our house with our little boys. Our carpet certainly hadn't. It was only six years old but was beyond disgusting. It had been through many unspeakable things, including little boy bodily fluids, spills and ground in food. It was just gross and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even healthy towards the end. It didn't matter if it got cleaned or not, it still looked nasty. Well we have been talking about replacing the floors for a long time. The problem with wood is that our kids and dog would scratch it up. After looking around a bit we decided laminate was our best option but we wanted to be sure it looked like wood. We found an awesome deal on some really nice flooring from Costco and my wonderful husband and step-dad spent the whole day yesterday installing our living room flooring. It looks great! A professional couldn't have done better. There was definately some blood, and sweat involved. I'm not sure about the tears. I don't think the guys would admit it if there were! Dustin is very protective of his floors now. I'm proud of the men. They did a great job. Unfortunately there is phase two still to complete (the dining room and kitchen) and I don't think either of them are looking very forward to it. I can't blame them. It was hard work. In the end we are going to have nice, clean beautiful floors that we will get to enjoy for years to come. Way to go Dustin and Kurt! You guys are my handy men hero's!
