It's certainly a busy but exciting time of year! The boys are so excited for Christmas and have loved decorating the house. After only having the Nativity set out for an hour, we were already missing baby Jesus and Mary. Benjamin had placed them in one of the Christmas boxes. Now he likes to take Baby Jesus up to bed with him. He is just so darn cute!
On Saturday we had our ward Christmas party. Our children could not be more opposites, which is a good thing. We get all kinds of different experiences! Benjamin had been by the door and came running over to us yelling, "It's Santa, It's Santa." He was so excited that he got to see Santa. As Santa walked around the room, Benjamin stalked him everywhere he went. When Santa sat down, Benjamin was already in line to see him. His picture doesn't show it, but he was so excited. He got a little stage fright when it was his turn to talk to him. In the mean time, Britton was coloring a picture and trying as hard as he could not to make eye contact with Santa. I went over and asked him if he wanted to see Santa and he said "No way!" He wants to send him a letter. Britton has always been wary of Santa. The other day he got out of the bath and said "Can Santa see us when we're naked?" He was so worried that Santa can always see him to see if he's been bad or good. I assured him that Santa would never look at him when he was naked.
Britton continues to do awesome in basketball. During his game on Saturday he made 4 baskets! It was a good game for him, although he is a ball hog. But at least he's pretty good. On Saturday before the game, the boys were playing football and posed for some cute pictures. Dustin also got a video of Benjamin. Benjamin calls Mickey Mouse Hot Dog because at the end of the Mickey Mouse Club House they sing a hot dog song. He must have a really good memory because we don't even have Disney and haven't for about a year! It's too funny though.
Saturday Afternoon we set up our Christmas tree (Pictures to come). The boys had the best time! They were really helpful too. They were even more excited when we put their presents under the tree! Saturday night the boys had a baby sitter and Dustin and I got to go see the play "White Christmas" with my mom and Kurt. It was really good! I got tickets for my birthday. The boys had a great time with their baby sitter too. They love it when she comes over.
We really do have just the best kids! Today it snowed and Britton wanted to get all dressed up in his snow clothes and shovel the walk. I looked out the window and he wasn't shoveling our walk so I went out to see what he was up to and he was at our neighbor's house shoveling his walk! I asked him what he was doing and he said "I'm shoveling our neighbor's driveway so he doesn't have to." He is just the sweetest, most thoughtful kid. I'm proud of him. Afterwards he came inside and had some hot chocolate. What a good kid! Britton's been so nice to his brother lately too. He's been sharing things with him and letting him him have the toy that he is playing with. I'm so glad they have each other. Siblings are great!
